Fore Our Hospital 2017 raises $20,000!

On Monday June 5th, grey skies and a chilly north wind didn’t let our 82 golfers feel blue!

Perhaps it was that their hearts and spirits were warmed by knowing that their participation helped raise $20,000 for better patient care at Guelph General Hospital.

“Our golf participants, volunteers and sponsors all contributed to the success of this year’s event and for that, we are grateful” said Suzanne Bone, the Foundation’s CEO.

All proceeds will help purchase new monitor/defibrillators and a portable X-ray machine.

The Hospital has prioritized replacing its entire fleet of monitor/defibrillator units as well as replacing two portable X-ray machines to help provide better patient care to some of our most ill patients. The total cost of these items is estimated at more than $500,000.

$259,000 was already raised at this year’s Black Tie Bingo. The Foundation’s Annual Spring Mail and Online Giving Campaign is also designated to help fund these items.

1 of 2 dollars spent on hospital equipment comes from community.

Patient care equipment is not covered by public dollars within the province of Ontario. It is our caring community that provides our Hospital’s healthcare workers the tools they need to care, comfort and heal all those that come to Guelph General in need of care.

The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital’s signature events inspire our community to come together to support patient care excellence at our Hospital. These events raise close to $350,000 annually to help save lives and improve health.
