How do I make a donation?
The easiest way to make a donation is online. Please see the Ways to Give page of our website to find a giving option that best suites your giving interests.

Why do you need to fund raise? Doesn’t the government pay for health care?
Patient care equipment is not funded by public dollars within the province of Ontario. Public funding covers Hospital infrastructure and basic operational costs. Public funding also covers the wages of our Hospital’s staff.
But it is donors who give our healthcare workers the tools they need to care for their patients. Donors help fund every piece of patient care equipment at our hospital.
It is only through the combination of public funds and community donations that our hospital will continue be well-equipped to serve you, your family and your friends when you need it most.
When will I receive my tax receipt for my monthly gifts?
For those who make monthly gifts, your receipt for the current tax year will be mailed to you before the end of February. You will receive a single tax receipt that is equal to the total amount of your monthly gifts.
If you also made single gifts throughout the year, you will have received a tax receipt immediately by email for online gifts. For single gists made offline, you will receive a tax receipt by mail within weeks following the date you made your gift.
What is your monthly donor giving program?
Through monthly giving, you have the opportunity to make a lasting commitment to Guelph General Hospital through a manageable monthly donation which adds up to a significant contribution over the year! Your monthly contributions let us know in advance what support we can count on throughout the year, and are important to helping us plan and budget for future funding needs. Best of all, it’s easy and convenient! There are two payment options: you can use your credit card or set up withdrawals from your chequing account for monthly donations.

Who do I contact if I want to run an event on behalf of the Foundation?
We’re delighted that so many people think of Guelph General Hospital when they decide to host a fundraiser. Support from our community is a long-standing tradition and we wouldn’t be where we are without it.

You can download both from our website’s Publications section.
When an In Memory or In honour gift is made, is the amount of the donation disclosed?
No. This information is kept strictly confidential unless the donor instructs us otherwise.
Will you send out cards in honour or in memory of an individual when a donation is made in their honour?
Yes. Our donors often give in memory or in honour of their friends and loved ones. When a donation is made we send out a card to the family or individual being honoured, acknowledging your generous donation. Sorry, we do not have an e-card option at the present time.
