Together, our community cared for Helen-Ann Learmont

Leading into the holiday season, Guelph General Hospital received an email from Manny Garcia who wished to express thanks to the Guelph General team who provided care to his wife, Helen-Ann Learmont.

Manny Garcia graciously writes:

Dear Guelph General Hospital,

I also wanted to acknowledge the following individuals; Emergency Department Nurses who took such good care of Helen-Ann before she was transferred to the surgical unit, PACU Nurse who looked after Helen-Ann post-op, and 6W Nurses who made sure that Helen-Ann’s recovery and discharge went smoothly.

Clearly, the organizational culture of Guelph General is one of kindness and caring; from the porter who took the time to reassure Helen-Ann while she was on her way to the operating room, to the food services staff who were always polite and caring, to the Director of Volunteer Resources who worked the front line to make sure that things ran as they should. All of you made a difference, a real difference, and for that, words alone can never truly express our gratitude. With that in mind, we recently made a monetary donation to The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital.

The past two years have turned our world upside down. I’m sure that no one has felt it more than our front-line workers who have carried much of the burden. To see the level of kindness and caring that we experienced while at GGH truly restores our faith that all will work out.

With warmest regards,

Manny Garcia & Helen-Ann Learmont
