Launch of new “Virtual Visiting Program” thanks to Fusion Homes

Current visitor restrictions while necessary are challenging for patients and their family members. To help reduce the sense of isolation, the Guelph General Hospital has launched a new “Virtual Visiting Program”!

Using tablets and platforms such as Zoom, patients are connecting to their support network.

Special thanks goes to Fusion Homes for the generous donation of 20 tablets to make these virtual visits possible. As well as many thanks to the team involved in developing the training materials and overseeing the launch of this new service.

Much gratitude to our Nurses, Patient Relations staff and Social Workers who facilitate virtual visits.

Post pandemic, we plan to continue virtual visits to help our patients and their loved ones stay connected.
