Caregivers and staff adapt quickly to meet the Hospital’s need for COVID-19 Screeners

As soon as patients and visitors arrive they are now greeted by our Screeners. These staff members are key to keeping us safe during COVID-19 but this is not their regular ‘day job’.

Staff have been redeployed from a number of areas throughout the hospital, including the Sleep Lab, Diagnostic Imaging, Ultrasound, Bariatrics, Medical Device Reprocessing Department, Respiratory Services and Clerical. Instead of registering you as a patient, doing your x-ray, ultrasound or MRI scan, maintaining medical devices or doing a sleep study they are now taking your temperature, asking you screening questions and providing you with a donated cloth mask.

We are so grateful for their ability to be nimble and learn this new role and be part of our #pandemicresponse. Screeners, we thank you!
