July 50/50 Hospital Lottery Winner
The winning number, A-4917415, of our inaugural monthly 50/50 Hospital Lottery for Guelph General Hospital was drawn on Friday, July 31st at 11 am.
We are incredibly excited to announce that Lynn Vanschaik is the winner of $37,195!
Lynn purchased her ticket in late June when we first launched the lottery. She enjoyed watching the jackpot grow and encouraged friends and others in the community to support it too.
“Seeing our community come together in support of the hospital was encouraging and hopeful,” said Lynn.
An enthusiastic supporter of the Hospital, Lynn has volunteered for numerous years now to help organize the annual Black Tie Bingo fundraising gala in support of the Hospital.
Lynn is a strong believer that when you do good things such as volunteering and supporting each other and the community, that eventually it comes full circle.
Inspired by this belief, Lynn has decided to donate $5,000 of her winnings back to the Hospital!
“I’m so honoured to be your first winner, but the lottery is really about supporting the Hospital. I would never be able to make this kind of gift otherwise, so it’s an honour to be able to donate a portion back to the Hospital.”
Lynn enjoys living in her home in Guelph with her mom. She is looking forward to the financial relief that the winnings will provide to them both during these challenging times. Soon after she bought her tickets, Lynn started day-dreaming about what she might do if she won, so she already has some ideas in mind.
