You make a difference in the lives of patients at GGH

Do you know what the common thread is across all these patients?

Someone who can’t breathe and needs to be intubated immediately.

Healthy, newborn babies.

A newborn baby who needs to be quickly transported to a tertiary hospital for specialized care.

A woman in labour.

A man who has fallen and broken his hip.

A woman who has suffered severe blood loss due to a car crash.

A young man who comes to our Emergency Department in mental health crisis.

An older woman at risk for osteoporosis.

The family of any patient in our Intensive Care Unit.

Patients who suffer cardiac arrest, anywhere in our Hospital.

Any patient who has a test to identify what infection they have.

It is you. You have touched the lives of these patients. You have improved their care and experience through your generosity. Because of you and our Hospital’s community of supporters, $1.7 million of patient care equipment was funded in 2017/2018. Those funds purchased close to 60 pieces of equipment. You put these tools into the hands of our healthcare team. You helped patients receive better care at Guelph General Hospital – thank you!

The Hospital’s President and CEO, Marianne Walker, says “Each day at Guelph General Hospital, lives are changed and often the equipment purchased through the generosity of our donors plays a role. Donors have a direct, positive impact on the care we’re able to provide.”

Funds were raised through generous donations for specific projects, bequests, mailings, memorials, and events like Black Tie Bingo and Tour de Guelph.

“We are blessed by the support of our community” noted the Foundation’s CEO, Suzanne Bone. “One in two dollars we spend on equipment comes from a donor…truly, donors are part of our healthcare team.”

Our annual report and audited statements will be available in June. Please check in the Publications section of our website (www.gghfoundation.ca) at that time if you are interested. Or, give us a call and we can send you a copy.
