David Halls

This week’s #MondayMotivation recognizes the difference our caring donors (of dollars and time) make.

Having just concluded Black Tie Bingo, we are feeling especially grateful for our caring and committed donors and volunteers within the Hospital community.

David Halls has been an active donor, volunteer and committee member since 2004. He served on the Hospital Foundation Board for a six years, and has been on the Black Tie Bingo committee for 10 years, this year as Chair. He and his wife are also committed donors as Circle of Life members, and it is an honour to display their names on our Donor Wall at the Patron level.

David’s commitment and passion for philanthropy is far-reaching throughout our community. In addition to his work with our Foundation, he is involved with numerous organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Women in Crisis, the Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium, and the Guelph and District Association of Realtors. In addition, you can count on David and his wife being at most fundraising events in our community.

“After my time on the Foundation Board was over, continuing my work with Black Tie Bingo was a way for me to stay connected with the Hospital,” explained David.

David, a real estate agent, was recently honoured with Royal LePage’s first ever Ontario Realtor of the Year award. The award is for someone who is philanthropic by nature, who contributes to the industry and the community, and we couldn’t think of a more deserving recipient.

David says, “Healthcare isn’t well funded by the government. I want to be involved in a better quality of care and that means being an active member of the Hospital.”

Having had to rely on the Hospital for care himself, he appreciates even more the contribution that community makes to quality healthcare. When he shattered his wrist falling down stairs and needed a CT scan and surgery, his experience was quick and easy.

Patient care at Guelph General Hospital is better because of community support.
