A fifth-generation, family-run Guelph business, Sutherland Insurance has served Ontario communities for over 150 years—and for nearly four decades, they’ve been loyal supporters of Guelph General Hospital. Their latest gift continues a legacy of generosity and shared commitment to local healthcare.

Located at the Speedvale campus of Conestoga College, the new medical centre will significantly expand access to diagnostic imaging services. This includes the addition of a second MRI machine to reduce wait times, as well as the expansion of mammography services, helping more patients receive timely, potentially life-saving screenings. With plans for future growth at the site, the medical centre is designed to evolve with our community’s needs, bringing cutting-edge care closer to home.

“Our community has always been at the heart of our work,” says Suzanne Sutherland, Director of Philanthropy at Sutherland Insurance. “We’re proud to support a project that will directly improve the health and well-being of our neighbours.”

“We are deeply grateful to Sutherland Insurance for their unwavering support over so many years,” says Julie Byczynski, CEO of The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital. “Their generosity has touched countless lives in our community, and this most recent gift is yet another powerful example of their commitment to building a healthier tomorrow, for all of us.”
