Building A Bridge to the Future: The 14th Annual Heritage Society Social

On October 8th, The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital proudly hosted the 14th annual Heritage Society Social. This year’s gathering, held at the historic Guelph Civic Museum, celebrated the visionary commitment of those who have chosen to the Foundation in their estate plans. The event served as a platform for members and guests to connect and learn more about how their support will transform the future of health care at Guelph General Hospital.

Julie Byczynski, CEO, and Matt Peltomaki, Director of Philanthropic Programs welcomed the group. Julie paid tribute to the Society’s legacy donors, highlighting the lasting impact of their generosity. Last year alone, the hospital received an additional $900,000 in charitable bequests for crucial equipment – vital signs monitors, ultrasound machines, and transport ventilators – that would not have been possible without the generosity of our legacy donors.

The program featured a presentation by Mark Walton, GGH President and CEO, and Dr. Alex Ferguson, GGH Chief of Staff. Together, they shared insights into the hospital’s current priorities and shared some exciting new initiatives that will “bridge to the future” of Guelph General. This engaging presentation sparked a lively question-and-answer session, allowing guests to delve deeper into the hospital’s firm commitment to providing timely and efficient care for the community.

Our guests were then treated to a tour of the Museum, which included a display of artifacts from the history of Guelph General Hospital and the School of Nursing.

If you are interested in making a lasting difference by leaving a legacy gift to the Guelph General Hospital Foundation, or if you have already included us in your will, please contact Matt Peltomaki in confidence at 519-837-6440 ext. 2569 or [email protected].

Did you know… that the generosity of our legacy donors has enabled us to purchase $900,000 worth of vital medical equipment last year, including vital signs monitors, ultrasound machines, and transport ventilators? This new equipment is a testament to their visionary commitment to improving patient care.
