The Circle of Life is the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital’s giving collective – bringing together extraordinary community members who want to make a direct and lasting impact on local healthcare.
Members contribute $2,500 or more each year, and their gifts are combined to fund important projects that advance innovation and improve patient care at Guelph General Hospital. Members also receive opportunities to deepen their connection to the hospital, including exclusive events, behind-the-scenes experiences, and chances to engage directly with clinical and administrative leaders.
Your voice shapes care
Each year, Circle of Life members come together at an Annual Celebration to vote on one of three special hospital projects to collectively fund. Carefully selected by hospital staff, these initiatives are chosen for their potential to enhance patient outcomes and bring innovative, leading-edge approaches to care. Project presentations give members a firsthand look at the vision, innovation, and patient impact behind each proposal before casting their vote.
Current and Past Projects
In celebration of Guelph General Hospital’s 150th Anniversary, the Circle of Life voted to combine both 2025 and 2026 contributions to fund a portion of the critical upgrade of the Vascular Surgery Suite. This major modernization will introduce advanced imaging and precision‑guided technology that reduces radiation exposure by 50%, improves accuracy in stent placement, and speeds up procedures.
Guelph General Hospital is home to the Regional Vascular Surgery Program, and these major upgrades will enable the surgical team to treat up to 25% more patients each day—expanding access to timely, life‑saving care for 1.1 million people in the program’s catchment area.
This transformational project builds on a legacy of high‑impact initiatives made possible by the giving collective:
- 2024: The digitization of pathology for the Laboratory
- 2023: 2 new hematology analyzers for the Laboratory
- 2022: 2 new ultrasound machines for Diagnostic Imaging
- 2021: A fracture table and hip and knee replacement instruments for various operating rooms
