In loving memory of Reverand Nancy Collett: Reflection garden update
In 2021, a reflection garden including a memorial plaque and benches was officially installed in front of Guelph General Hospital in memory of Rev. Nancy Collett. Rev. Collett was a dedicated member of the GGH team, serving as Hospital Chaplain for many years. A compassionate and giving person, Rev. Collett volunteered with Hospice Wellington and other charities throughout the community.
In her role, Rev. Collett touched many lives including patients, families and staff members. Since her death in December 2019, Rev. Collett has continued to be remembered for her caring for others and the impact she had on Guelph General and the larger community. The garden is intended as a place for reflection and to carry on her legacy.
Due to preparation works relating to the Emergency Department expansion, all impacted plaques and benches along Delhi Street including the “Remembering Nancy” garden have been carefully considered by the redevelopment team and contractors. There are plans in place to temporarily store the tributes, and to re-install them once construction is complete. Further details will be shared as available.
